It’s crunch time for Georgia Baseball and other teams around the country as it relates to the upcoming NCAA Tournament. With just over 10 days remaining until the brackets are released, every game that’s played between now and then will mean that much more in deciding seeding as well as who’s in and who’s out.

The Bulldogs appear to safely be in the tournament based on the latest projections from both D1Baseball and Baseball America, but where do they stand when it comes to seeding? Georgia hosted regionals in each of its last two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019 before the 2020 tournament didn’t happen due to COVID and the team missed it in 2021. As it stands currently, it would appear that that streak will be coming to an end with Georgia hitting the road to compete for a spot in the super regionals.

D1Baseball has Georgia as the No. 2 seed in the Tallahassee Regional at Florida State. Meanwhile, Baseball America projects the Bulldogs to travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. and Southern Miss, also as the second-seeded team.

Interestingly enough, both postseason projections have Georgia paired with No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina and No. 4 seed College of Charleston.

As of the games played on Tuesday, Georgia currently has the No. 7 RPI in the country, backed by the nation’s No. 4 strength of schedule. The Bulldogs have played Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, all three of whom are currently projected as regional hosts. Series wins over Georgia Southern and Florida, the No. 6 and No. 13 teams in the RPI ranking respectively, as well as games against top-30 competition in Clemson, Georgia Tech and Wofford are also boosting Georgia’s standing.

Georgia took care of business on Tuesday night against Presbyterian, beating the Blue Hose 18-3 behind a big night from the Bulldog bats. The team will be back in action today (Thursday), tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday against Missouri in the final SEC series of the season with conference tournament seeding very much so still in the balance. First pitch for tonight’s game against the Tigers is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network+.
