Georgia Bulldogs once again the story of the NFL Draft

The Georgia Bulldogs are once again the story of the NFL Draft. Last year, it was 15 picks out of 15 eligible players and the number-one overall pick.

This year, it was 10 picks, a top-10 overall pick in Jalen Carter and three overall in the first round.

That’s right, just three.

It’s officially a down year for Kirby Smart’s Dawgs.

But not for the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted three more Georgia Bulldogs to make it five in two draft classes.

They also traded for D’Andre Swift to really complete the movement.

Georgia Bulldogs fans considering Philadelphia Eagles fandom: Philly expert and radio host John Kincade joined The Georgia Show Sunday night.

While we neither condone or condemn your bandwagon efforts, we felt it best to bring an actual cheesesteak expert on to share his Pennsylvania perspective on the Dawgs renaissance.

Like and subscribe to DawgsHQ on YouTube to watch us live every Sunday and Wednesday at 8:30PM ET. We also run the replays on YouTube, Apple and Spotify Podcasts.

Rumor has it our newest employee, Rusty Mansell, will join the show in a special live stream to start the week. Don’t miss that.

What about the non-Philadelphia Georgia Bulldogs?

Not all of Georgia’s 10 drafted Bulldogs went to Philly.

Look at any given expert’s 2023 NFL Draft analysis, and you’ll see that the other Pennsylvania NFL team potentially “won” this year’s draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers also love them some Dawgs.

Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington join their former Georgia teammate George Pickens in a tremendous AFC North landing spot.

Their former offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, will get a good look at them a couple times this season when they play the Baltimore Ravens.

We also dive into why the Rams’ Stetson Bennett decision may or may not have been a surprise. Los Angeles clearly got a good look at The Mailman as he diced up the Horned Frogs up at SoFi.

Now he gets to learn from his (slightly) older, wiser Dawg mentor, Matthew Stafford, and fellow Rams Draft pick Warren McClendon can help him pack.

Not to be missed, Chris Smith (Raiders), Robert Beal (49ers) and Kenny McIntosh (Seahawks) round out another incredible Georgia showing at the Draft.

Worth looking at: Georgia’s recruiting classes at the Draft

On3 put together a great resource for anyone who wonders why stars matter.

If you are a 5-star recruit, you had an 81% chance to get Drafted this year.

What’s more, we took a moment to examine Georgia three-, four- and five-stars through the years.

Simply put, if Georgia recruits you, and you sign with the Dawgs, you are more than likely going to the NFL Draft.

Kirby Smart not only has the Philadelphia Eagles pipeline humming.

He has an entire NFL farm system. And in this day and age of NIL buzz-worthiness, NFL still wins the day.
