2028 may seem an eternity away, but the nation’s top prospect in the cycle, quarterback Jayden Wade, decided he’d waited long enough to make his college declaration.

On Sunday, the 6-foot-3 and a half, 180 pound signal caller announced he plans to play at the next level with the Georgia Bulldogs.

A product of Bradenton, Florida’s IMG Academy by-way-of California, Wade becomes the second commitment of the Class of 2028 for the Bulldogs, joining legacy tight end Asa Wall, who hopped aboard in October.

“Their staff is great, I’ve learned a lot from their program,” Wade told DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson in August of this year. “Georgia has a tradition of winning. I love how tough it is at Georgia and how they develop their players. The staff does a great job developing…I like Georgia a lot. Their program produces a lot of NFL players. I didn’t really follow their program growing up. But, I started following them 2 years ago and love what they’re doing.”

That recent following has led Wade back to Georgia several times this season, including a stop for the game against Texas this weekend.

Currently, Jayden Wade ranks as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2028 per the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Rivals’ proprietary rankings have him as the No. 21 overall prospect, however, and the No. 3 quarterback in the cycle. It’s clear the evaluators think a great deal of him, however.

The Rivals Scouting Report on Jayden Wade

“One of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the 2028 cycle. Checks in at 6-foot-3.5, 183 pounds, and registers as an elite athlete with impressive speed times in the combine setting. Has a tight, quick throwing motion with a live downfield arm. Has the speed to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Limited in terms of valuable game reps, working as a backup at national powerhouse IMG as a freshman. Will benefit greatly from gleaning experience on Friday nights. Older for the cycle, as he will turn 19 in the fall of his senior season.” – Charles Power on Jayden Wade
