Georgia sits at 12-1 for the 2025 season after winning its second straight SEC Championship with a 28-7 win over Alabama on Saturday. It has gotten to this point while relying on a few true freshmen, two of whom were named to the On3 True Freshman All American team on Monday.

Dontrell Glover, Georgia’s starter at right guard fort the last 10 games, made the squad, as put together by Charles Power. Bulldog defensive tackle Elijah Griffin made it on the defensive side of the ball.

Glover has helped stabilize an offensive line that was riddled with injuries earlier in the year. He got his first start against Alabama at the end of September, a game that the Bulldogs lost by a score of 24-21. But he has also helped UGA reel off nine straight wins.

Listed by Georgia at 6-foot-3, 320 pounds, Glover was not an early enrollee. He didn’t make his way to campus until late May. The buzz started picking up soon after preseason camp began. Ultimately, he ended up taking over that job after fellow true freshman Juan Gaston started at right guard in the season opener. Due to his versatility, Gaston has become Georgia’s sixth man on the offensive line, playing both right guard and right tackle. Glover has been shifting from right guard to left guard within games.

“He’s been a blessing,” Kirby Smart said of Glover earlier this year. “He loves the game. He’s passionate about it. Very naturally instinctive. You can tell he’s well-coached in high school. He does a good job. He’s earned the opportunities, with some of the injuries, to get in there. He’s made the most of them.”

Griffin has been part of Georgia’s plans along the defensive line since spring. He has not had a chance to start a game, but he has played significant snaps in all 13. In fact, he is second among interior defensive linemen in snaps on the season. The former five-star prospect has racked up 18 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a sack on the season.

Georgia has punched its ticket to the 2026 Allstate Sugar Bowl, which will be played on January 1. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on ABC and the Bulldogs will square off with the winner of No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 Tulane.
