Georgia releases depth chart for Alabama in SEC Championship

ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia is back in the SEC Championship game and, once again, it’s Alabama. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 3, are in the College Football Playoff. They’re playing for a bye and what would likely be another berth in the Sugar Bowl. The Crimson Tide are also likely in the playoff, win or lose. They could also earn an bye and a Sugar Bowl berth. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on ABC, but before that happens, we’re offering a look at the depth chart.

Quarterback

  1. Gunner Stockton

Running Back

  1. Nate Frazier
  2. Chauncey Bowens

*** Bowens (knee) has not played in either of the past two games, both Georgia wins. He suffered a knee contusion in the win over Texas, and Kirby Smart said that he was available vs. Georgia Tech last week. It would be surprising if he doesn’t see action in this game.

Wide Receiver – X

  1. Colbie Young or Noah Thomas

*** Georgia still lists Young on the depth chart but he’s out for the sixth straight game after breaking a bone in his lower leg against Ole Miss. There’s a small chance that he could return for the playoff.

*** Bobo is out for this game with a foot injury sustained against Georgia Tech. Malachi Toliver is expected to get the start but Dontrell Glover has also worked at center this week.

Right Guard

*** While he’s still not listed on the depth chart, Dontrell Glover has started for Georgia at right guard since the first matchup with Alabama. Gaston has rotated in with Glover, who also flips over and plays left guard. Gaston also sees action at right tackle.

*** Hall suffered a season-ending knee injury in the win over Florida. Georgia tapped him to start the first eight games of the season. McLeod has started in his place since.

*** Allen missed the Charlotte game after tearing his meniscus against Texas. He came back last week against Georgia Tech and played 34 snaps.

*** Harris is no longer with the Georgia football team. He plans to enter the transfer portal and has not practiced with the team this week.
