One of Georgia’s newest commitments in the 2026 class has already had a change of heart. Copia-Lincoln Community College (Wesson, Miss.) offensive lineman Jarmaine Mitchell has flipped his commitment from UGA to Arizona State.

The 6-foot-8 320-pound lineman has now flipped twice in just a little over a month. He was originally committed to Mississippi State but made the switch to Georgia on October 31. A three-star prospect per the Rivals Industry rankings, a weighted average that included all three websites that publish recruiting rankings, Mitchell is viewed as the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle. He was projected to at least start out at guard if he made it to UGA’s campus.

Originally from Vacherie, La., Mitchell holds offers from a number of big-time programs after spending two seasons at Copia-Lincoln. That list includes LSU and Ole Miss. The loss leaves Georgia with one offensive tackle committed in the 2026 class, Ekene Ogboko.

He ranks as a five-star prospect and the No. 14 overall prospect in the nation per the Rivals300. The South Garner (Garner, N.C.) product is the nation’s No. 36 overall prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle per the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Georgia also has a trio of interior offensive linemen committed, headlined by Buford four-star Graham Houston. He, like Mitchell, projects as a guard. A pair of three stars, Zachary Lewis (North Gwinnett) and Zykie Helton (Carrollton) are also on the commitment list. Lewis could play guard or center at the next level while Helton projects as a center.

The 2026 Rivals Industry Team Rankings have Georgia sitting at No. 2 nationally behind USC. The Early Signing Period will begin on December 3 and last through December 5. The Bulldogs currently have two five-star prospects, 20 four-star prospects, and five more players, two of whom are kicking specalists, rated as three-star prospects.
