Georgia center Drew Bobo entered Friday’s game with a laceration on his hand. He ended Friday’s game early with what Kiryb Smart described as an ‘ankle or foot’ injury.

The junior center went down and returned with an unrelated issue in the first half before being seen with a boot on the sidelines as Georgia came out for the second half.

Smart didn’t know the severity of Bobo’s injury postgame, but did confirm that the junior center was dealing with an injury.

“Not sure, he’s got an ankle, foot, not sure,” Smart told reporters after the game.

Georgia replaced Bobo with redshirt freshman Malachi Toliver for the second half. Toliver started last week’s game as Bobo dealt with the laceration on his hand.

Smart reserved judgment on Toliver until he can examine the film of Friday’s game further.

“I have to reserve that for the tape and watch,” Smart said. “Thank goodness you know Malachi got the time he got to meet the force, go in there and play. There was one run that we thought would have gotten out, but it was an explosive that he didn’t quite get the guy, but I don’t honestly know until I watch the tape.”

Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton expressed his concern for Bobo, whom he considers one his best friends, following the game.

“Drew’s a great player,” Stockton told reporters after the game. “He’s one of my best friends. Seeing him go down, it was tough, but I thought I did a good job of stepping up. We didn’t execute as good as we wanted to. I didn’t play as good as I wanted to today, but as long as the dogs win, it’s always a good day.”
