Should Georgia worry about a Mississippi State letdown?

Should Georgia worry about a Mississippi State letdown? We discussed it so you can decide after listening to and/or watching The Georgia Show.

Yes, Georgia’s win over Tennessee had all the juice and intrigue.

It had all the eyeballs, too, as the highest-rated College Football TV broadcast of the season.

But the Dawgs have to move on. We did, too, on our midweek LIVE edition of The Georgia Show.

If you’re new to this party, we stream each Wednesday and Sunday night at 8:30PM ET.

We also go live immediately following each game.

You’re welcome to join those streams on our YouTube channel, or catch a replay there after the fact.

You can also find our voices on the Apple and Spotify podcast platforms.

But the live show is always more fun. That’s when all the true knuckleheads come out of the woodwork to give us our own peanut gallery comment section.

So, here’s what we determined when it came to whether or not Georgia could have a letdown against Mississippi State:

It isn’t likely.

The Dawgs are 16.5 favorites on the road in the SEC, which is a pretty big number.

But it does leave a little wiggle room for Mike Leach to work his air raid magic.

We saw Georgia’s defense get itself in a shootout in Athens a couple years back when JT Daniels found Jermaine Burton for several touchdowns.

Two years later, both guys play for different teams.

It’s a different scenario now.

This Georgia team is better than that one was. I think it could make Mississippi State tap out with a couple of early blows.

But the possibility always lingers… a turnover here… a cowbell-induced penalty there…

And all of the sudden, you’re in another Missouri situation.

Let’s see how this Georgia team handles that proverbial bullseye now.

Kirby Smart seems to like where their heads are.

Other than our serious analysis, this edition of The Georgia Show certainly had a Mike Leach flair to it

Jake Rowe shared an account of a middle Georgia diner waitress who truly believed Mike Leach was Vince Gill when he stopped in for a cup of coffee and ice box pie.

Seriously.

We also highlighted the Georgia fan engagement crew for throwing Tennessee fans’ Stetson Bennett phone insult back in their faces.

In our weekly Choppin’ Wood segment, I teased my piece about that hypothetical Georgia – Tennessee rematch.

Rowe and Palmer Thombs highlighted Kendall Milton and Arian Smith, respectfully.

And Jake Reuse had a dynamite recap from a few high-profile recruits who stopped by Athens to take in that Rocky Top stomp.

Maybe Georgia – Mississippi State gets weird.

After that massive Tennessee performance, I don’t think it would surprise many if Georgia took a quarter or two to get its footing.

But it can’t be any more bonkers than this week’s episode of The Georgia Show.

Appreciate y’all giving it a shot and adding it to your Georgia football show rotation.
