Stetson Bennett’s arrest dominated College Football’s headlines. But Todd Monken’s decision is the bigger story in Bulldog Country.

We discussed both of these Dawgs on Sunday Night’s LIVE episode of The Georgia Show.

Missed it? No sweat. I’ll catch you up to speed here, and the replay is always available on YouTube, Apple and Spotify.

Yes, Stetson Bennett’s arrest will get a ton of attention in the short term.

It will get Bennett some even more intense questioning from NFL scouts than he was already going to get.

This may serve as a wake-up call to slow his roll.

But other than having to answer whether or not he is really taking this NFL opportunity seriously, how big of a deal was Stetson Bennett‘s arrest, really?

I suppose he still has a say in that in the aftermath. But knowing how Bennett operates, he’ll probably make fun of himself for it and get back to work.

To some Dawgs, this just added to his legendary status.

According to the responses I’ve seen on Twitter, whoever makes the Stetson Bennett mugshot t-shirt could get a lot of support from Bulldog Nation.

We had to start the show with Stetson – but Todd Monken is the real story around Georgia right now

Interviews with Tampa Bay and Baltimore have Georgia fans squirming.

The nerve-wracking sentiment shared by many:

‘Not only could the Dawgs’ back-to-back offensive coordinator leave, but Georgia could decide to replace him with Mike Bobo!’

Well, I think our conversation on the topic may calm down all the nervous Bulldogs out there.

Even if Monken does leave, Bobo isn’t a guarantee to take the job.

And even if Bobo takes the job, we are of the opinion that it wouldn’t submarine the Georgia football program.

As a matter of fact, historically, it’s Bobo leaving that sends Georgia off the rails.

Don’t believe me? Watch and listen to the show to hear all the context. I hope it eases your OC anxiety.

National Signing Day and a new commitment over the weekend

Georgia had a bunch of visitors in town ahead of this week’s ‘late’ National Signing Day.

Yep, we got a Duce Robinson update for you.

And we broke down all the speedy film of new 2024 athlete / running back commit, Dwight Phillips.

Georgia is a couple pieces away from overtaking Alabama for the number-one class in 2024.

And just because Bama has the Dawgs beat by a whisker in 2023 doesn’t mean Georgia’s class takes a backseat.

We’ve seen how that plays out on the field the last couple of seasons.

Georgia evaluates and develops and keeps its roster together better than Bama.

Can that change? Absolutely. College Football never sits still for too long.

But the Dawgs are undeniably on their way to some stellar classes in the next two cycles.
