The Jackson Cantwell/Georgia Visit – What We Know Now

The Bulldogs played host to the top prospect in the country this weekend, with Jackson Cantwell and his parents taking the opportunity to spend Mother’s Day weekend in Athens. It’s the last stop for the coveted offensive tackle before he announced a pledge on Tuesday, and Rusty Mansell dives in on how Georgia put its best foot forward with the massive Missourian and where things stand coming off of the trip. Recent Georgia commit and No. 1 quarterback Jared Curtis was in town for the trip, as well. Could the two be forming that Jacob Eason/Ben Cleveland bond from years back? There’s much to learn from this one…

Previewing the Cantwell Decision

With the trip in the bag and the decision to come, how do things shape up for Georgia? We look at all of the options out there, from Miami to Oregon and everything in between, and break down how the Bulldogs stack up. Also, what could this decision mean for Georgia this summer? There’s a lot on the line in terms of building this class up in a major way. For Stacy Searels, it’s also a key decision given the stakes. What would this addition mean for the Georgia offensive line coach and the feelings surrounding his recruiting as of late? Safe to say, it’s huge in more ways than one.

Georgia lands a major commit for 2026

Aside from waiting for news on the 2026 front, the Bulldogs put some major hay in the barn on Sunday, with elite in-state safety Jordan Smith announcing his intentions to stay home and play for the red and black at the next level. A long, rangy safety with speed to spare, Rusty Mansell believes this young star could slot into a couple of spots for the Dawgs in the defensive backfield, and that’s big news. Additionally, Smith’s approach and mental makeup seem to make him an ideal fit for the Georgia way. Looks like T-Rob has a player in this one.
