2026 3-star wide receiver Kortez Rupert commits to Indiana

Indiana football added another key piece to its 2026 recruiting class Monday, securing a commitment from East St. Louis (Ill.) wide receiver Kortez Rupert.
Rupert’s pledge marks the second commitment for the Hoosiers in as many days and continues a strong June recruiting stretch under head coach Curt Cignetti.

Rupert, a 6-foot-1, 160-pound junior, announced his decision via social media following a recent official visit to Bloomington. He becomes the 12th member of Indiana’s 2026 recruiting class and the first wide receiver to join the group.
The East St. Louis product is coming off a breakout season, finishing his junior campaign with 24 receptions for 660 yards and eight touchdowns. Known for his explosiveness, Rupert also contributed as a return specialist on both kickoffs and punts.
Rated as a three-star prospect by the On3 Industry Ranking, Rupert is ranked No. 22 overall in the state of Illinois for the 2026 cycle. His commitment gives Indiana another playmaker from a high school with a strong pedigree at the position — East St. Louis recently produced five-star receiver Luther Burden.

Rupert’s decision follows Sunday’s commitment from tight end PJ MacFarlane and continues Indiana’s momentum from a busy weekend of official visits. The Hoosiers also landed a commitment earlier this month from Wisconsin offensive lineman Kenton Mondeau and is currently ranked inside the top 35 nationally and top 12 in the Big Ten, according to On3.

While Rupert is the first wide receiver to join the class, Indiana remains in pursuit of additional talent at the position, including in-state standout Jerquaden Guilford of Fort Wayne, the top-ranked player in Indiana. Guilford visited Michigan over the weekend.
Rupert’s commitment underscores the early recruiting success of Cignetti’s staff as they look to reshape the program in the head coach’s first full cycle in Bloomington.
