Indiana football embarks on its postseason journey this Saturday in the Big Ten Championship, setting up a long-anticipated collision between the nation’s top two teams. After completing a perfect regular season, No. 2 Indiana now meets No. 1 Ohio State at Lucas Oil Stadium with multiple program-defining stakes on the line. The winner will claim the Big Ten title, likely secure the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff and may also determine the outcome of the 2025 Heisman Trophy race between IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza and OSU quarterback Julian Sayin. This marks Indiana’s first appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game and presents an opportunity for the program to win its first outright Big Ten title since 1945. However, the Hoosiers will need to end one of the longest active droughts in college football. Indiana has not defeated Ohio State since 1988, and the Buckeyes have won 30 straight matchups in the series, including a 38-15 victory in Columbus last season. Ohio State leads the all-time series 81-12-5.
