Indiana football lands at No. 2 in latest CFP Rankings

Indiana football comes in as the No. 3 team in the latest College Football Playoff rankings that were released on ESPN during the CFP Rankings show on Tuesday night. The Hoosiers came in as the No. 2 team in the country per the AP Top-25 rankings. They sit behind Ohio State (No. 1).
Other teams out of the Big Ten that appeared in the College Football Playoff rankings included: Iowa (No. 21), Michigan (No. 18), USC (No. 17), and Oregon (No. 8).
Indiana would play the winner of Ole Miss and Texas.
Indiana football is 10-0 on the year for the second season in the row with their latest win coming on the road vs Penn State in the final seconds of the game this past Saturday. Heisman favorite and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza led the Hoosiers on a phenomenal last drive and found wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. in the end zone for one of the best catches of the year to win the game 27-24 to remain undefeated thus far.
“It was the most improbable victory I’ve ever been a part of. And there couldn’t have been a better place to make it happen,” Curt Cignetti said following the Hoosiers’ 27-24 victory over the Nittany Lions.

As it currently stands, Indiana is on track to compete in the Big Ten Championship game in December. If Indiana were to win on Saturday, they will lock up an appearance at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on December 6th with a chance to win a Big Ten Championship.
