Indiana football is back on the road, looking to continue their perfect start when they face Penn State this week.

The No. 2 Hoosiers are coming off a dominant 56-10 win over Maryland, but face an extremely talented Penn State team.

Penn State came into the season with high expectations, but is 3-5 and has lost their last five games since beginning Big Ten play. Interim head coach Terry Smith took over the program after James Franklin’s firing and is 0-2 since taking over.

ALSO: Redshirt-freshman Adedamola Ajani will likely start at left guard in place of Drew Evans. Zen Michalski got the start last week for Indiana. It will be Ajani’s first career start.

Penn State converted a fourth down in their own territory to keep the drive going. Then on 3rd and 10, Ethan Grunkmeyer found Trebor Pena over the middle for a 43 yard gain to get the Nittany Lions into the red zone.

Nicholas Singleton finished it with a two yard touchdown run to cap off a 10 play 67 yard drive.

Incredible play from Mendoza on 3rd down to keep the drive alive, but Indiana could not get into the end zone. Nico Radicic’s 27 yard field goal attempt is good to give the Hoosiers the lead.

It took just three plays for the Hoosiers to capitalize off of the turnover. Charlie Becker had a nine yard reception to get down to the one and on the next play Kaelon Black punched it in.

D’Angelo Ponds had a pass breakup on the first play of the drive, then on the next play it’s Fisher who picks of Grunkmeyer as his pass is deflected by Jamari Sharpe. It’s the 2nd turnover Fisher and Sharpe have collaborated for this game as the Hoosiers take over at the 50 after a short return.
