Indiana was unable to capitalize of the early turnover, but after forcing another stop, they took over at the Purdue 40 and made the Boilermakers pay. Indiana went 40 yards on five plays as Kaelon Black punched it in from one yard out.

After a bad punt set the Indiana offense up at the Purdue 36, the Hoosiers took no time to punish the Boilermaker defense. They went 36 yards on two plays as Fernando Mendoza opened the drive with a 20 yard run before Black scored from 16 out while making a defender miss with a nasty spin move.
