It’s another edition of the Hawkeye Report Podcast and we have plenty of news to cover this week. Kyle Huesmann and Tom Kakert open discussing the evolving situation regarding the sports gambling investigation.

Where do things stand for Iowa and Iowa State after the revelations this week? When we will the Hawkeye players involved learn their fate and potential suspension? Will it be before the start of the 2023 season?

Then we discuss the latest news regarding conference realignment. After saying they weren’t looking to add schools last week, the Big Ten appears to be reversing course and now looking at adding Oregon and Washington and potentially even Stanford and Cal. Would this benefit Iowa? Does it even benefit the conference if their media partners are not willing to add to their current agreement?

Finally we wrap up with an extended conversation on the upcoming trips overseas for the Iowa men’s and women’s basketball teams. First the women, who leave on Friday for Italy. We know Caitlin Clark will be the star, but who will emerge for the Iowa Hawkeyes?

Then with the men’s team, with Amarion Nimmers leaving, Patrick McCaffery arriving later, and Riley Mulvey not going on the trip, what are the expectations for the Hawkeyes on the trip and who could be a breakout performer?
