The Iowa Hawkeyes have landed one of their top remaining targets in the Class of 2026 in defensive lineman Jack Janda. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Janda, who was previously committed to Wisconsin, announced today that he is flipping to Iowa and will sign with the Hawkeyes on Wednesday.

“Coach Ferentz, Coach Bell, and the rest of the staff and how they develop their players,” Janda said. “I really like what they’ve built over the years with the talent they’ve brought in and just seeing them get developed.”

Janda, who visited Iowa City in early November, is coming off an impressive senior season that saw him rack up 42 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks as he led Detroit Catholic Central to a state title this year.

“At the end of the day, when I visited there, it felt like the right place for me and my future,” said Janda. “I went to the Oregon game in Kinnick, and I’ve never seen fans so passionate about their football and excitement. From the first day they started recruiting me, they kept it real and made my family and I comfortable.”

Along with Iowa and Wisconsin, Janda earned scholarship offers from Michigan State, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, Kentucky, Miami, Louisville, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, West Virginia, Purdue, and Cincinnati, among others, during the recruiting process.

A three-star prospect, Janda is commitment No. 18 overall for Iowa in the Class of 2026. The Detroit native plans to enroll early and join the Hawkeyes at semester in January.
