Mark Gronowski invited to Manning Passing Academy

The expected starting quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes is back and officially throwing the football. Mark Gronowski, who spent spring ball in Iowa City recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, is back throwing a football and will doing that at the prestigious Manning Passing Academy later this month.
The names of the quarterbacks who will be invited to the event were released on Friday on Instagram and it included the transfer quarterback who is expected to lead the Iowa offense this fall. This year’s event is scheduled to start on June 26 and run through June 29 at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA.
This will be the second year in a row that Gronowski has been invited to the Manning Passing Academy. Last year when he was still leading the South Dakota State squad, he was at the event representing the Jackrabbits program.

After considering declaring for the NFL Draft following last season, Gronowski considered Iowa and several other schools before committing to the Hawkeyes. This spring he underwent minor shoulder surgery and missed all of spring ball. But, he was back throwing a football at the final practice of the spring, which was a sign that he was nearing 100% with his throwing shoulder.
During his four years at South Dakota State, he was named the Walter Payton Award winner in 2023. Overall as a starting quarterback he had a 49-6 record. He threw for 10,308 yards and 93 touchdowns, while completing 64% of his passes. He also rushed for 1,767 yards and 37 touchdowns.
