WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes talk win over in-state rival Drake
A renewed in-state rivalry with plenty of connections between the two programs, Iowa and Drake met for the 57th time on Thursday night. The Hawkeyes were impressive, blowing past the visiting Bulldogs for a 100-58 win at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Six players scored in double figures for the second consecutive game and have now won 22 of the last 23 meetings against Drake.
HawkeyeReport and the rest of the media caught up with head coach Jan Jensen after the game to discuss the dominating win over the Bulldogs. She discussed the team’s depth and how tough they have been to guard for opposing defenses, the play of Journey Houston, what she liked from her team early in the game and more.
The media also got a chance to talk with Chit-Chat Wright and Taylor Stremlow. Wright tied for a team-high 14 points, including four made three-pointers, while Stremlow put up ten points in just eight minutes.
