Gary Parrish over at CBSSports.com updated his preseason rankings for next college basketball season and Kentucky dropped from No. 1 to his fourth-ranked team. The spring recruiting whiffs knocked the Cats out of Parrish's top spot.

4. KENTUCKYNorth Carolina is Parrish's new No. 1 team, followed by Maryland, Kansas, Kentucky, Iowa State, Duke, Virginia, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Gonzaga in the top 10. [UNC moves to No. 1 in Ridiculously Early Preseason Top 25 (and one)]Why the Wildcats are ranked here: It's amazing that John Calipari missed on basically every high-level prospect he targeted over the past month. What's also amazing is that he'll still have a roster talented enough to make a fifth Final Four in six seasons.
