2016 4-star point guard Eron Gordon shows interest in Kentucky
Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky basketball recruiting writer Ben Roberts reported today that Indianapolis native Eron Gordon, brother of New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon, is heavily considering taking his talents to Lexington, KY in 2016. According to 247Sports Composite, Gordon is the No. 10 point guard in the country, as well as the No. 36 player in the class of 2016.
Though Calipari and his staff are not allowed to contact Gordon via telephone until June 15, Eron will have another voice in his ear encouraging him to spurn Indiana crimson for Kentucky blue throughout his entire recruiting process: fellow Indianapolis native and current incoming freshman Trey Lyles, who is a good friend of Gordon’s. Per Roberts:
“‘I haven’t talked to Trey about it yet, because he hasn’t been there yet,’ Gordon said. ‘But I’m probably going to get a lot of insight from him. Me and Trey are really close. I’ve been playing with him since I was really young, and it’s going to be pretty fun to see him play there.'”
Gordon will visit Kentucky for the first time next month. He lists Indiana, Duke, and Kansas as the three other schools recruiting him hardest as of late.
