The 2021 Kentucky Football season kicks off this Saturday and KSR is bullish on the Cats in Mark Stoops’ ninth year.

Everyone on our panel of eleven writers and personalities picked Kentucky to win at least eight regular-season games. Three of us were brave enough to call for a win over Florida, while Nick Roush went as far as to predict a 6-0 start. Despite all that enthusiasm, none of us believe Kentucky will beat Georgia in Athens. Hopefully, the Cats will prove us wrong, especially Jack Pilgrim, the sole panel member to predict Kentucky will lose to Missouri in Week Two.

Comments from the KSR Panel

Tyler Thompson: Wins over Missouri and South Carolina will give Kentucky the momentum it needs to knock off Florida at Kroger Field, a massive victory for the program. Unfortunately, the Cats will lose the next three: the Florida high turns into an LSU hangover; Georgia is just too damn good in Athens; and Kentucky turns in its annual “What happened there?” game in Starkville. Thankfully, the Cats bounce back with a big win over Tennessee in Lexington before knocking off Vanderbilt and New Mexico State to set up the cherry on top, a rout of Louisville in Cardinal Stadium.

Drew Franklin: Kentucky Football will open and finish its 2021 season with four-game win streaks. First, the Cats get out on a hot start by beating Louisana Monroe, Missouri, Chattanooga, and South Carolina. Florida comes to town in Week 5 and spoils the undefeated fun with another close game in the new version of the rivalry, then UK gets back in the win column against LSU (Lexington goes crazy) before two straight road losses at Georgia and Mississippi State, the latter a disappointing effort in Starkville. Kentucky bounces back with wins over Tennessee, Vanderbilt, New Mexico State, and Louisville. 9-3.

Ryan Lemond: 9-3 Baby!!!  Three tough games back-to-back-to-back, but after that, it’s gonna be a fun run.

Adam Luckett: After a hot start, the Wildcats aren’t able to get over the hump against Florida at home and that leads to four consecutive losses during a brutal October stretch. The ‘Cats get off the mat quickly by putting a beatdown on Tennessee on their way to sweeping November. Kentucky heads to Tampa for the Outback Bowl to take on Iowa.

Nick Roush: Florida and LSU are incredibly over-rated. Don’t fall for the logos, Kentucky is the better team. However, Kentucky is terrible under Mark Stoops off bye weeks and in Starkville. Tennessee is no good but they’ll win a game they shouldn’t; I fear it will be in Lexington. See you in Tampa for the Outback Bowl.

Your turn. How will Kentucky Football fare this season?
