It only took a few days for Amontrae Bradford to go from picking up a Kentucky offer to locking in an official visit with the Wildcats.

Bradford, a class of 2024 three-star edge rusher, is set to take an official visit to UK the weekend of September 8-11, he tells KSR. Kentucky will host Eastern Kentucky in Week 2 of the 2023 season that weekend.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound rising senior out of Statesboro (GA) High School announced an offer from Wildcats defensive coordinator Brad White on Wednesday and wasted little time scheduling a trip to Lexington. Kentucky was the 21st Division I school to offer Bradford, who has since picked up additional offers from East Carolina and Ole Miss.

Coach White came to visit Bradford on Wednesday to extend an offer from Kentucky in person, but defensive backs coach Chris Collins is the one in contact with him the most. Immediately after picking up the offer, Bradford was already considering an official visit to UK for the fall. Now, it’s coming to fruition.

“It’s kinda hard not to have a connection with Coach Collins,” Bradford told KSR on Wednesday. “He’s the type of guy that’s gonna tell you how it is and he gonna talk to you. I can talk to him about really anything, it doesn’t always have to be about football. He’s someone that’s really good to talk to.”

Along with Kentucky, Bradford has several other official visits locked in, which he’ll take in June. He tells KSR that he’ll make trips to Georgia Tech (June 2), Virginia Tech (June 9), Indiana (June 16), and Vanderbilt (June 23) next month. Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas A&M have also been staying in touch with the talented pass rusher, although no future visits have been set at this time.

A commitment is expected after he takes all his visits. Bradford previously told KSR that he could also take an OV to Western Kentucky in the fall.

“I’m looking for someone who is gonna recruit me for me,” Bradford said. “Not just as a football player but me as a person. Somebody I can bond with, talk to if I need to, things like that. That’s what’s really gonna get me. If you can sit down and have a conversation with me just about life, outside of football? That’s what I like.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Bradford is considered the No. 819 prospect and No. 57 overall EDGE in the ’24 class.
