Kentucky’s top remaining offensive line target in the class of 2022 is ready to make his decision. Four-star offensive tackle Aamil Wagner will announce his commitment on November 11, choosing between Kentucky, Maryland, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State.

Wagner announced his commitment date Friday afternoon.

The four-star lineman out of Dayton, OH is rated as the No. 116 prospect overall and No. 13 offensive tackle prospect in the latest On3 player rankings. He’s also the No. 4 player out of Ohio.

Family ties

In a recent conversation with On3’s Zack Carpenter, Wagner said Kentucky feels like home.

“I think Kentucky offers a really good home environment, especially with my brother there now,” Wagner told On3. “I know a lot of people in the program like coach [Mark] Stoops and [recruiting coordinator Vince] Marrow. I’ve known them for a long time now.”

Wagner’s older brother, Ahmad, played wide receiver at Kentucky for two seasons before recently joining the UK coaching staff as a graduate assistant. During his two years in Lexington as a player, Wagner recorded 15 catches for 254 yards to go along with two touchdowns, all of which coming in 2019.

“They have a bright future.”

In a follow-up conversation with On3’s Hayes Fawcett this week, Wagner praised the Kentucky coaching staff and what it has been able to build in Lexington.

“I love how they make me feel like family every time I’m there and I’m really comfortable with their coaches,” said Wagner. “I like the program they’re building there and feel like they have a bright future.”

Kentucky is trending nationally in the four-star recruit’s recruitment, reeling in two consecutive Crystal Ball picks over at 247Sports and two straight FutureCasts over at Rivals.

Dane Key weighs in

If you ask Kentucky’s newest commitment, four-star wide receiver Dane Key, it’s a recruiting battle the Wildcats expect to win.

“We’re trying to get Aamil Wagner now,” Key told KSR on Friday. “That’s who we’re going to get, that’s who I’m going to start recruiting really hard so he can play with me at the next level.”

Kentucky already sits at No. 16 overall in the On3 team recruiting rankings. A commitment from Wagner in 13 days, along with upcoming decisions from the likes of Barion Brown and Deone Walker, could help solidify a spot in the top 10 for the ‘Cats.

Time to make some history.
