Demitrius Bell, a four-star class of 2023 wide receiver, confirmed what had already been reported a couple of weeks ago: he will take an official visit to Kentucky this weekend. Bell tweeted on Tuesday confirmation of his upcoming visit.

Lexington could be quite busy this weekend when it comes to hosting top-ranked recruits. Bell is just one of several prospects coming to UK to watch the Wildcats take on South Carolina this Saturday night (we’ll have more on that list later in the week), but he’ll easily be one of the more talented. The 6-foot-0, 175-pound pass catcher out of Nashville (TN) McGavock is considered the No. 201 overall high school senior and third-best player from the state of Tennessee, according to On3’s player rankings.

Kentucky already has a pair of impressive wide receivers committed to the ’23 class in four-star Shamar Porter and three-star Anthony Brown, but the Wildcats’ revitalized offense has others like Bell highly interested in joining in on the fun. Former Auburn commit, four-star WR Karmello English, is another prospect also very high on UK’s radar.

Bell’s official visit to Kentucky this weekend is significant, considering it’s the only OV he currently has scheduled. UK wide receivers coach Scott Woodward has done a terrific job with Bell since he reopened his recruitment.

Previously committed to the Michigan State Spartans from June 8 until August 23, the Tennessee product is hearing from plenty of the nation’s top programs. Georgia offered Bell in early September, which he quickly followed up with an unofficial visit to Athens. Alabama has also offered. On August 28, Bell dropped a Top 6 on his Instagram that included LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee — six SEC programs.

Kentucky appears to be in solid shape with Bell as we inch closer to December’s early signing period. This weekend’s visit will be critically important in keeping up that momentum for the ‘Cats.
