A couple of basketball notes

by:Thomas Beisner12/19/08
The Cats had their practice at Freedom Hall tonight and a friend of mine that attended said it was a pretty good showing by the fans, who said the lower level was pretty full and that "Jared Carter looked mean in warmups".  We'll get you a recap later tonight or in the morning, as well as update you on the King of the Bluegrass, which is where El Capitan Jones is at the moment.  But, in the meantime, a couple of updates: The Cats got some good news as Ramon Harris was cleared to return to practice, although his status for tomorrow's game is still uncertain.  Ramon, as we all know, isn't a dymanic, exciting player but he's very important to the team and Gillispie and crew are certainly happy about getting him back on the floor. Also, what we all expected officially became official as Matthew Pilgrim's appeal to be eligible this season was denied by the NCAA.  The practice and summer star would be a welcome addition as an athletic, big body and a good matchup for Earl Clark (I promise I'm done mentioning him), but they haven't had him to this point and not getting him back won't be a disaster. We'll be back in later tonight with the updates promised above.  Enjoy your evening.
