Friends, As we near the end of the decade, it's a prime moment to reflect upon the past several years and all our favorite things about them. Because I love movies about sports, I decided to take a look back at this decade's best sports movies, only to realize, surprisingly, that there actually weren't that many great sports movies in the 2000's. That did not deter me from making a list of sports movies from this decade, however, and that list is as follows. Movie I Can't Believe I've Never Seen: Remember the Titans (2000) Sort of About Athletes: Gladiator (2000) Will Smith Should Stick to Action Movies: The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000), Ali (2001) Most Awesome Movie Ever About Soccer: Shaolin Soccer (2001) Hottest Movie Ever About Soccer: Bend It Like Beckham (2002) Sounds Like a Children's Cartoon, But is Really Just a Terrible Football Movie: Gridiron Gang (2006) Movie Surprisingly Not About Soccer: Christmas With the Kranks (2004) There Are Swim Fans? Swimfan (2002) Movies That Sound Like They're About Sports But Aren't: Training Day (2001), The Recruit (2003), Alien Vs. Predator (2004) Wow, Meg Ryan Looks Old, and Why the Hell is She Making a Movie About Boxing? Against the Ropes (2004) Best Movie Where a Stool is the Villain: Million Dollar Baby (2004) Sam Houston State Loses: The Alamo (2004) Not About Bruce Pearl: Girl With a Pearl Earring (2003) About Bruce Pearl: I Think I Love My Wife (2007) Is This About Duke's Basketball Program? Beauty Shop (2005) LSU Makes the Final Four in 2006: Run Fatboy Run (2008) The Mike Davis Story: Kicking And Screaming (2005) The Billy Gillispie Story: Red Eye (2005) Great Movie About Boxing That Will Probably Be Forgotten: Cinderella Man (2005) Sportcenter's Stuart Scott Reports: The Eye (2008) Greg Oden at Ohio State: Catch and Release (2007) Is This About Duke's Basketball Program? Daddy's Little Girls (2007) Houston Nutt Was Wrong: Untraceable (2008) Racehorse Named After a Food I Do Not Think I Would Eat: Seabiscuit Duke's Basketball Program: White Noise (2005) Adios, 2000's. We will miss you, but certainly not your terrible sports movies. Now I throw it to you, friends. What have I missed?
