A Great Day in Lexington

It was really a great honor to be part of the Hoops for Haiti Telethon today at the WKYT studios in Lexington. In case you havent heard the total yet, the fans of Kentucky generated over $500,000 during the telethon and a group of "Friends of Cal" have agreed to match that total to lend a total giving effort of over $1 million to the Haitian relief fund. I was proud to watch fellow UK fans donate with such generosity throughout the day. Also it was great to see Calipari's fellow coaches ranging from Jim Boeheim to Rick Barnes to announcer Dick Vitale, call in and make pledges. For me, the best moment of the telethon, and the one that clearly moved Calipari, was when Tubby Smith called in and donated and said at the end, "Go Gophers...and Go Wildcats!" A class move from a class individual. We will have the podcast go up at 8 pm and there will be more stories in the late night post. But for now, here is a video taken by someone at the event of Wall, Cousins and Bledsoe playing with a baby that will most certainly entertain you:
