st-catharine St. Catharine College in Springfield, Ky. is closing its doors the Board of Trustees announced this morning during a campus-wide faculty meeting.  The Catholic School was founded by the Dominican Sisters of Peace in 1931.  In the last year they had an enrollment just shy of 1,000 students. The school's chairman, John Turner, said a declining an enrollment was only part of the reason why they're forced to close their doors.  A lot of that can be blamed on the Department of Education, who recently admitted to withholding student aid to essential academic programs.  They also accrued quite a bit of debt building new facilities. To all of those who lost a job teaching at the school and students who lost a place to learn, you have KSR's condolences.
