A new leader at tight end

by:Thomas Beisner08/27/10
If there's any position on UK's offense that entered camp with less certainty than the quarterback position, it was tight end where a handful of newcomers and seldom-used players were competing for the starting job.  According to Joker Phillips, a new leader has emerged and it's one that might be a bit surprising.  Sophomore Jordan Aumiller, who spent last season at linebacker, would earn the starting honors if the Louisville game was today.  According to Phillips, it was down to Aumiller and Alcoa, Tennessee native Tyler Robinson for the top spot on the depth chart and the staff let Larry Vaught decide if he'd rather make Randall Cobbb or Jacob Tamme references all season.  It was no decision really. While it might be a bit of a surprise to some, Alan Cutler and his posse were not caught off guard and churned out this feature on Aumiller today.  Well done, WLEX 18.  You guys want to come on the radio?
