A Quick, Fake Summary: Porter Gets Love Against the Chippewas

by:The Fake Gimel Martinez12/29/08

Baby you can wear his clothes; play his records, stay at his home. Long as you just love him till the sun shines.

Earlier this season, Michael Porter was the untalented but hard-working villain that was holding back the playing time for the chosen one, DeAndre Liggins. Tonight, Rupp and the Big Blue Nation showed Porter some love, as he put together one of his better games as a Wildcat: 12 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-3 FT), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 steal. More importantly, his effort was paired up with another solid effort from Landon Slone (8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 turnover). Their offensive output forced the Chippewas out of their collapsing zone and helped jump-started the Kentucky offense.

That, and the fact that Kentucky played some Suffocat defense.

Matt or somebody else will be along with further notes. If you attended the live chat, be sure you mutter an extra curse at Jared Carter under your breath tonight. If it wasn't for Carter's missed FT, we would have seen pictures of the dance team member who was winking at Bobby Perry (but Matt thought was winking at him).
