A Quick Update on Jager Burton

I caught up with the number one ranked player in Kentucky on Monday. The recruiting process for Jager Burton, Frederick Douglass High School’s four-star offensive guard, has taken many twists and turns, mainly from the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has limited official visits, as well as his teammate Dekel Crowdus’ recent pledge to the Big Blue. The Crowdus commitment was extremely significant in nature due to the four-star’s talent level, his connection to Burton, and for Mark Stoops, landing a commitment from Lexington’s top program. Q: Are you still planning to announce your commitment on your birthday (August 24) and how has COVID-19 impacted your official visit schedule? Burton: Yes, August 24 is what I’m hoping for. As of now I don’t think I’ll have officials but if they let us take them then I’ll take them to my five. Q: Who are the five? Burton: Kentucky, Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and Oregon Q: The Big Blue Wall has gotten all kinds of preseason respect on a national level. What’s your take on that? Burton: It’s cool to see a school branding its offensive line. Q: Tell us about the significance of Dekel Crowdus’ commitment to Kentucky.
