A'dia Mathies named Co-SEC Player of the Year

mathies mitchell Congrats to A'dia Mathies on being named Co-SEC Player of the Year by the league. Mathies was also named to the First Team All-SEC, along with DeNesha Stallworth. Samarie Walker was named to the Second Team All-SEC and All-Defensive Team. Mathies shares the award with Tennessee's Meighan Simmons. This will be the second consecutive SEC Player of the Year honor for Mathies, who has had an unbelievable senior season, averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds. Her award also makes it the fourth year in a row a Kentucky players has won SEC Player of the Year honors. UK Hoops begins their postseason journey Friday night against the winner of Missouri/Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament in Duluth, Georgia. You go, girls.
