Adidas auctioning off a special edition shoe for all 50 states
Adidas called on 12 female artists to commission a special edition of its Ultraboost X sneaker for each of the 50 states in America. Each shoe will be sold in an auction today, July 11, with the proceeds going to Women Win, a charity that describes itself as “the global leader in girls’ empowerment through sport.”
Jen Mussari, an artist based out of Brooklyn, took on the task of designing Kentucky’s shoe and she chose to pay homage to the Kentucky Derby.
“To represent Kentucky and one of its most famed events, the Kentucky Derby, I used mint and roses,” Mussari explained.
