Afternoon college basketball update

ilovebasketball The day has been full of happenings in college basketball so how about you let me wow you with some quick hitters on the comings and goings... --South Carolina visited Ohio State and got absolutely torched, 79-57. Jared Sullinger had 600 points and 300 rebounds and it really was never close. Doesn't do much for the image of the SEC east but, to be fair, it's a lot easier to beat South Carolina when that absurd Sandstorm song isn't making you want to run away. --Kansas survived a scare from USC on Josh Selby's go-ahead three-pointer with less than :30 left. It was Selby's debut for the Jayhawks and he didn't disappoint, knocking down five treys and scoring 21 points including the game winner. Kansas is ridiculously dangerous if Selby is the star people believe him to be, and he had a star's debut today. One thing we know, though, is that Selby's mom was very excited to finally see him play in a Kansas uniform: --Oakland, who beat Tennessee before it became so stylish, lost to mighty Michigan by 18 this afternoon. Just thought you might like to know. --Bruce Weber seems to have Illinois rounding into midseason form, as they scored only 54 points in losing to lowly Illinois-Chicago by three. The Cats will be moving up the polls come Monday. --Texas and North Carolina are playing a close one on CBS, with the Heels up one at the half over the visiting Horns. --As far as the rest of the SEC goes, Georgia beat Arkansas State, Arkansas lost 71-62 to Texas A&M in overtime, Florida and Kansas State are playing right now with K-State leading early, and Tennessee sucks. And finally, if anyone snaps any cool pictures of the celebration for Joe B. Hall, or a good shot with or of any of the former players in town for the Coach, feel free to send them to [email protected] and I might post one or two or sixty.
