New Mexico State's offense will be without its star player on Saturday when it enters the friendly confines of Commonwealth Stadium. Larry Rose III, the Aggies' star running back, missed the first two games of the season while recovering from an offseason sports hernia surgery, and he'll need at least one more week before he can return. Jen Smith over at The Herald-Leader broke the news after speaking to NMSU head coach Doug Martin today. Rose III broke his school's all-time single season rushing record in the tenth game of the season in 2015, and finished the year ranked sixth all-time in the Sun Belt Conference single season rushing yards. The record-setting sophomore season earned him Third Team All-American honors by the Associated Press and Preseason Third Team All-American honors this year. I can't say we'll miss him in Lexington on Saturday, but we wish him well after that because he is a hell of a talent. (And probably would've torched Kentucky's defense.)
