Alex Legion comes to Lexington today....

legion2.jpeg For the last year, everyone in the Big Blue Nation has held their breath waiting to hear what would happen with Patrick Patterson and Jai Lucas. And for many, the faces are now turning blue as the process extends towards May. But out of nowhere in the last ten days has come another top flight prospect looking at Kentucky, Alex Legion. Reports suggest that he is headed to Lexington tonight for a visit tomorrow, after meeting with Kansas Coach Bill Self in Virginia (presumably at Oak Hill). Understanding where Legion is going is not easy....heck even understanding who to talk to so as to find out is hard. I spoke to someone on Monday night who I thought was his father, but it now seems as if he was the godfather/AAU coach of Legion.....who the next day had Legion's mother say about him that he "didnt speak for the family" and to ignore his list of schools (specifically UCONN and UCLA). Legion's mother seems to prefer Michigan.....Legion himself has mentioned the two schools that his mom says are out and UK and KU. Thus it is unclear where Legion will end up and it is really no use predicting. I have never even spoken to Alex himself and know very little about the kid beyond hearsay. But I do know this.....he is a STUD talent. He is an amazing shooter, a great athlete and a top of the line scorer. Some believe he will make a decision early next week.....before Patterson and Lucas. That strikes me as somewhat funny. We know everything about Pat and Jai....we have talked about them for over a year, interviewed them multiple times and hung on their every words....and now from nowhere, a talent just as high as theirs may surface and commit to UK in less than two weeks. As my great-grandfather used to say...."Aint life strange."
