The Atlanta Hawks transferred him back to the league after a successful stint in the NBA G League with the Erie Bayhawks. Poythress averaged 24.5 points and 10.2 rebounds in 13 games in Erie, where he played alongside Terrence Jones and Isaac Humphries, two fellow former Kentucky Wildcats. In his final game with the Bayhawks, Wednesday night, Poythress had 41 points and 18 rebounds. The Hawks called him back up soon after. Poythress played in 18 games with Atlanta earlier this season with an average of 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in those appearances, which included one start. Good luck to Alex on his second shot with an NBA team in need of help.
