Alexis Jennings is heading to Columbia, South Carolina to play for Matthew Mitchell's rival, Dawn Staley. Staley said in a press release:
“It’s a great day to be a Gamecock,” Staley said. “Alexis joining our Gamecock family brings us a proven, versatile player. Her ability to score with her back to the basket and stretch the floor with her 3-point shot makes us instantly better.”
It was bad news when we heard Batouly Camara was good enough to go to UConn, but this is much, MUCH worse. South Carolina has arguably the best program in the SEC. They also have a coach that is easy to hate. If you've ever been to one of their matchups at Memorial, it's easy to tell there is no love lost for Staley and her team. Even though Hayley and Wilder are no longer our beat writers, they will still go out of their way to talk trash about Dawn.
You want to wish Jennings well, but that will not be the case when the Cats take on the Cocks.
