Opportunities keep popping up for some former Wildcats in the NFL. Today, the
Arizona Cardinals promoted Alfonso Smith from the practice squad. Smith was released by the Cardinals out of training camp two months ago and had just re-signed with the team last week. Injuries to Beanie Wells, Jason Wright, and LaRod Stephens-Howling (all questionable this week) opened the door for Alphonso. Arizona's starter, Tim Hightower, hasn't quite mastered the art of holding on to the damn football so Smith might get the chance to show what he can do. Too bad he'll be wearing Cardinal red.
