Chris Fisher of Kentucky Ink reports this morning that
three-star athlete Joseph Byrd has given his verbal to Rich Brooks and his staff. The 5'10, 170 pounder from Cape Coral, Florida runs a 4.41 40 and ranks as Rivals' 59th-best defensive back and ESPN's #58 running back. He had drawn offers from a ton of schools including Purdue, Arkansas, Indiana and Minnesota. Byrd projects as a defensive back for the Cats and becomes UK's 22nd commitment.
As the dominoes fall, you have to wonder if there is an official "he is" or "he isn't" verdict on Coach Brooks' future. Pure speculation, but worth noting.
