Andrew Wiggins Opens up His Recruitment

by:Matt Jones10/23/12
Wiggins In the first glimpse of not-so-positive news in the Andrew Wiggins recruitment, he told Evan Daniels yesterday that he is considering reclassifying and has asked other schools to begin recruiting him. Among the other schools he has invited into the process are Kansas, North Carolina and Ohio State, and Wiggins has decided to consider all of those schools going forward. This isn't positive news for UK, because up until this point, Wiggins was basically only looking at two schools, Kentucky and Florida State. By opening up the process, there are of course now more choices of potential opponents for UK in the selection. The 2013 reclassification looks more and more likely and could make Wiggins part of the UK super class...assuming of course he wants to be part of such a class. At this point, we do not know that one way or the other. I still like UK's position and think the Cats certainly have a good chance. But the percentage likelihood of him ending up in Lexington certainly decreases as each new school becomes competition.
