Anthony Bennett cuts it down to four

Anthony Bennett, the last remaining uncommitted top ten prospect in the 2012 class, has gotten one step closer to making his college decision as earlier today he cut Washington from his list and is now officially down to Kentucky, Florida, Oregon and UNLV. That's according to a Zags Blog report, which noted that Bennett had a "lengthy sit down" with Billy Donovan on Wednesday and that representatives from Oregon and UNLV were also in to watch him work out. He also spoke with UK assistant Orlando Antigua on Wednesday. According to Bennett's AAU coach, he's not finished cutting schools just yet. Bennett plans to eliminate one more school from his list in the next week before visiting his final three and making a decision after that. I have no information to base this on, but it would seem like Oregon is likely to be on the chopping block. Florida has always been considered one of the favorites for Bennett, Kentucky is clearly a player and UNLV is his hometown team, so the Ducks would seem to have a long way to go in order to make up ground on those three, especially if cutting Washington shows anything about Bennett's feelings on the Pacific Northwest. Once again, I have no idea, but that would seem like the scenario that makes the most sense. Bennett hasn't set a date for his official announcement, but the process is starting to wind down and after he takes his visits it should wrap up pretty quickly. Hopefully it wraps up with him picking the Cats.
