Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo and the Los Angeles Lakers are your 2020 NBA Champions
Well, it wasn’t the classic finish we were hoping for, but it was definitely memorable. The BBNBA era has made its first definitive mark on professional basketball.
Former Kentucky Wildcats Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo both became World Champions on Sunday night after the Los Angeles Lakers blew out the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals by a final score of 106-93, taking the series 4-2. The celebration marks the end of a successful Bubble experiment and adds another bullet point on Davis’ Hall of Fame resume.

Davis finished off his championship run with 19 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal despite playing on an injured heel. Rondo played easily his most impressive outing of the Finals, dropping 19 points on 8-11 shooting to go along with four rebounds and four assists.
With the Larry O’Brien trophy now in hand, AD becomes just the eighth player ever to win a Gold medal, an NCAA Championship, and an NBA title. He joins a prestigious list that consists of Bill Russell, K.C. Jones, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Jerry Lucas, Clyde Lovellette, and Quinn Buckner.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was a student manager at Kentucky when he attended the school during the Rick Pitino era, so a bonus congratulations should be extended his way. Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro finish as the runner-ups. LeBron James was named Finals MVP.
This title by Davis marks the first moment of what should be a lengthy stretch of success in the NBA by former Wildcats.
We’ll have a full recap of Game 6 ready for you bright and early in the morning.
