Anthony Davis returns to practice, could play Monday

by:Andrew McCarthy03/03/13
anthony-davis-slam-magazine     Anthony Davis, who sat out the last two Hornets (Pelicans?) games with a sprained shoulder, returned to practice today, according to The Times Picayune. In case you missed Ally's mention of it when it happened, here's a recap of how the injury went down, courtesy of the Times:
Davis, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft out of Kentucky, suffered his shoulder injury during the third quarter in last Tuesday night's 101-97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets after colliding into Nets center Brook Lopez. Davis came away from the contact grimacing in pain while holding his shoulder. He did not travel with the team for Wednesday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder or play in this past Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons at the New Orleans Arena. An MRI test administered last week revealed that Davis had a bone bruise in his left shoulder but no structural damage.
The big man was apparently unhindered by the injury in today's contact-free practice, and could return to the lineup as soon as Monday night against the Magic. Head Coach Monty Williams will wait until the team's shootaround tomorrow to make a decision. Either way, given the growing whispers about whether or not he is injury prone, the fact that AD is already back in the gym is good news. And we're all in need of a little good news today.
