Archie Goodwin wants to hear you "burr"
Since the Calipari era began, every team has had a trademark “meme” to it: the John Wall dance, Jorts, Three Goggles, and the Unibrow. When Nerlens Noel twirled his chair around and unveiled the UK logo in his flat top fade, it became a thing of legend, with fans across the Bluegrass trying to figure out how to grow one before October. Now, Archie Goodwin brings us “burr.”
A few weeks ago, Archie posted a video shoutout to the Big Blue Nation, which ended with him shouting “BURR” into the camera. Needless to say, most of us were pretty confused. After some research, we learned that “burr” is a reference to rapper Gucci Mane, and describes either icy jewelry (hence the “burr” from being cold) or “goin’ hard.”
Last night, Archie Goodwin tried to take “burr” to the next level with this tweet:
Next year in RUPP arenawhen we play when I do something tightI want the crowd to yell BURR!!
— Archie Goodwin (@A1Laflare10) May 17, 2012
And this tweet this morning:
I wish I could ofretweet more but my twitter wouldntLet me anymore lol. One more time for BBN. BURR!!!!
— Archie Goodwin (@A1Laflare10) May 17, 2012
Does “burr” have what it takes to become a part of the Big Blue lexicon? Will Rupp tremble with 24,000 fans “burring”? Is it Novemburr yet? Have I ever felt more like a nerdy white girl before?
