Ask Anything Mailbox, Vol. 6: QB debate, black magic and more

The Ask Anything Mailbox is back after a short hiatus while I traveled the state on the KSR Summer Tour and lived in KSBar and Grille to get it open. I was excited to find the mailbox packed full of new questions and a little bit of hate mail, some of which I will address tonight in this sixth edition of Q&A. Enjoy.
If I were to summon you with black magic, what five items would I need in each corner of the pentagram? This is weird and I'm not comfortable with you trying it. But in the spirit of the Ask Anything Mailbox, I will oblige. You'll need a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, Forrest Gump on VHS, a MetroCard, a strand of my eyebrow hair and a goblet filled with the blood of my enemies.
Are you team terry or team hoak? I am Team Whoever Can Win Football Games. Since Wilson has earned the starting role to start the year, I'll side with him in hopes he can get the job done. If he's not getting it done, I'll support Team Hoak whenever he's under center. I do not prefer one over the other. I just want Kentucky to win, especially this coming weekend.
Best thing on the KSBar menu. Go.
All of it. But the Bushwackers are really, really good if you're into frozen drinks. I'm a big fan of the pretzel bites and the beef brisket, too. The whole menu is great and I'm not just saying that because I have skin in the game. Our kitchen team did a great job.
I'm going to the Duke game in Indy and I need some recommendations for food and drinks. Will the pregame show be at Tin Roof? Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news? We'll start with the good: Kentucky will beat Duke in Indianapolis to open the season. Write it down. Now for the bad: the KSR pregame show will not be making the trip. It's election night so Matt will be busy with Hey Kentucky and it's the first basketball watch party in the bar so I want to be there for that. We'll send Mrs. Tyler to cover the game for the site while the radio show stays back in Lexington. As for recommendations in Indy, the conversations starts and ends with St. Elmo Steak House.
Drew,
We met in Pikeville and you told me you love visiting eastern kentucky. Is that true or were you being nice? I'm curious to know your favorite places to do the road shows.
It was 100 percent true. Do you think I would lie? As a Western Kentuckian by birth, I've really enjoyed our stops in Eastern Kentucky because I never really saw that part of the state before and it's beautiful. It's been fun to get out and see new places and meet new people. It's one of the perks of the job.
As huge BBN fans and Titans fans since Steve McNair, do we get special discounts at the bar or can we join you in your reserved section for Titans games? First of all, RIP Air McNair. Now for the discounts, I can't promise you that (we're trying to be a successful business). But I'd love to have fellow Titans fans at the bar on Sundays. I'll be there every Sunday for the NFL games and I'll need help drowning out the Bengals fans. We'll be a Titans bar if I have my way.
What is your cure or secret to not getting hangovers after a long night out? If you find one, let me know. I'm an old man now and hangovers cripple me.
KSR is my favorite website... I check it 20 times a day. Do you have a favorite website you check often? Keep up the good work. You, Tyler, and all the other writers do a great job! Thank you for the kind words. We put in a lot of work to provide the readers of Kentucky-Sports-Radio-dot-com with 20+ posts per day. You won't find another site with the quality and quantity of KSR. I'm proud to be part of the team. What websites do I check religiously, though? I can't think of any. When I'm on my computer I'm usually working on something for KSR so I don't do a lot of browsing. I don't have a site I check regularly other than Twitter. Now that it's football season I'll be spending a lot of time on Bovada. Does that count?
I know theres a Bahamas story you haven't told us yet. C'mon, give it to us! Your secret is safe with BBN lol As I said in my Bahamas recap, this past trip was a lot more tame than the trip in 2014. The players didn't have as much freedom to roam the bars and casinos at night, and we stayed pretty busy with the radio show and TV show everyday. I wish I could tell you some crazy story of waking up with one of the swimming pigs walking around our hotel room, but I can't. Maybe next time.
Pick one... UK football meets Alabama in SEC championship or UK basketball plays Duke in NCAA championship? I love the idea of beating Duke to win the title, but I also love the thought of going to Atlanta for an SEC Championship. The football game would be a no-lose situation, whereas the basketball game would really suck if they lost. I'll take the football game because the basketball team can win it all without the help of this hypothetical question.
Submit your question(s) for an upcoming edition of the "Ask Anything Mailbox"…
