The Gamecocks won outright as an 8.5 point home underdog, 80-77. Once considered a threat to win the SEC regular season crown, Bruce Pearl's Tigers dropped to under .500 in conference play with a 2-3 record through five games. With six more games against teams currently ranked in the top 25, including a rematch with Kentucky in Rupp Arena, it's hard to imagine Auburn will be in the hunt at the end of season. LSU is actually the team to watch now, along with Tennessee, of course. LSU is undefeated in league play with maybe the easiest remaining schedule. And do we worry about South Carolina too? South Carolina is tied with Kentucky at 5-1 in the SEC with wins over 14th-ranked Mississippi State, 16th-ranked Auburn and on the road at Florida. SEC BASKETBALL IT JUST MEANS MORE
