After not playing this season due to their involvement in the FBI’s probe into college basketball, Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy are ready to try their chances at the next level. Bruce Pearl told CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander that both sophomores will declare for the NBA Draft. Last month, the NCAA ruled Wiley ineligible and his appeal was denied. Purifoy is stilling waiting for official word on his status, but expects the same.

Wiley and Purifoy’s families were allegedly given $18,500 by former Auburn assistant Chuck Person, who faces six federal counts for steering players towards financial managers in exchange for $91,500 in bribes from a cooperating FBI witness. Interestingly, the NCAA cleared Wiley for next season, so should he go through the draft evaluation process and decide to come back to Auburn, he can play next year. It’s not clear yet if Purifoy will be allowed to do the same.

Regardless, Auburn’s doing just fine without them. With a 21-2 record, 9-1 in the SEC, the Tigers cracked the AP Top 10 for the first time in 18 years earlier today. Kentucky will get their shot at them next Wednesday at Auburn Arena.
