Avery Williamson undergoes surgery for torn ACL
Last month, New York Jets linebacker Avery Williamson tore his ACL during a preseason game vs. the Buffalo Bills. Today, the former Cat underwent surgery and is now on the road to recovery. Williamson just tweeted this picture with the caption, “Can’t keep a BIG DAWG down!! Blessings on a successful surgery.”
According to Gary Phillips, the surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Alabama. Williamson will miss the entire season. Last year, he finished with 120 tackles (80 solo) and 3.0 sacks in his first season with the Jets. During his five-year NFL career, he’s accumulated 497 tackles (319 solo) and 14.5 sacks.
Get well soon, Avery.
